Tips Before You Build
Deck Building Tips
Adding or extending your homes outdoor living space is an exciting project as well as being a great investment, however there are a few deck building tips which should be considered before choosing a builder.
Consider what sort of outdoor living space you want
The best living spaces are those that naturally flow out of the house and as a result get a lot of use. So, give a little thought to what you will use the new space or deck for.
- Will it be an entertainment area or a sitting area or both?
- Will it be a space where family meals are shared?
- Does it need to be a covered area?
- How importance is shelter from the sun and weather?
Answering these questions will help you determine how large an area you need and to what use it will be put. As a guide, the average Queensland deck is between 24 – 32 sq.m.
Consider the budget
